Sign in with a password and a one-time code
When your account has an active one-time code (TOTP, HOTP or OCRA), the page asks for the code after your password. This session has a lower assurance: it only gives access to the «Protect» area.
How do I sign in?
- On the sign-in page, fill in «Organization» and «Email».
- Open «Use password», type your password and choose «Sign in with password».
- The «One-time code» step appears with the text «The password has been accepted. Use the current code from the authenticator app; this confirmation can be used only once.»
- Type the code in «One-time code, 6 digits». With OCRA, answer the question shown with the generator's 8-digit response.
- Choose «Confirm code».
«Cancel and start over» leaves the step and returns to the password.
I want a stronger session
If you have an approver phone, the console offers the «Confirm this sign-in on your phone» card. Choose «Approve on phone» for a full session, or «Not now».
Messages in this step
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| «The additional confirmation expired. Enter your password again to start over.» | The step has a time limit. Start again |
| «This sign-in step was already used. Enter your password again.» | The step works once. Start again |
| «Could not confirm whether the second step was completed. For security, enter the password again.» | The connection dropped halfway. Start again |
| «The code was not accepted. Check the time in the app and enter a new code.» | Fix the phone's clock and use the next code |
The step allows a limited number of attempts. Many wrong codes in a row pause the method (from one minute up to an hour).
Can I administer or open applications this way?
No. Administering and signing in to your organization's applications need a passkey or a phone approval.
