End users · Phone approval
Sign in with your phone only, without a password
When your organization allows it, you can sign in by typing only the organization and your email and approving on your phone. You need a phone already linked to your account.
How do I sign in?
In the browser:
- On the sign-in page, fill in «Organization» and «Email» (a username also works).
- Choose «Sign in with ProofFlow Presence (Mobile)». The button appears only when your organization allows this option.
- The page shows «Type this code on your phone», a six-digit code and «Expires in» with the time left. The request lasts two minutes.
On the phone:
- Tap the notification or open the approver app (AuthGuard Presence). Under «Pending requests», choose «Open».
- Check the screen: the organization, the time of the request, and the «Browser» and «Network» it came from.
- Type the browser's code in «Code shown in the browser» and choose «Approve». Confirm with biometrics or the PIN.
- The phone shows «Request approved. You can return to the browser.» and the browser opens the console.
What if it does not work?
| Message in the browser | What to do |
|---|---|
| «The request expired. If you declined it on the phone or the code did not match, try again.» | Ask again and type the code carefully |
| «There are already requests waiting for this account. Wait for them to expire and try again.» | Three requests are already pending; wait two minutes |
| «Too many attempts. Wait a moment and try again.» | The network's attempt limit; wait |
For security, the browser shows the same message when you decline on the phone, when the code does not match and when time runs out. It never says whether the account exists either.
I got a request I did not make
Someone typed your email on the sign-in page. Choose «It wasn't me» on the phone. See I got a request I did not make.
Is it as safe as a passkey?
Phone approval is multi-factor, but not phishing-resistant. Some applications may require your passkey.
