How to sign in to your organization's authentication service
The sign-in page of your organization's authentication service (AuthGuard) offers several ways to sign in. This article helps you pick the right one and explains what each allows.
What do I type?
- In «Organization», type your organization's identifier (the "slug" your administrator gave you). If the page already shows the organization's name at the top, this field is not shown.
- In «Email», type your account's address.
Which methods are there?
| Method | Where it is on the page | What the session allows |
|---|---|---|
| Passkey | «Sign in with a passkey (this device)» | Everything your role allows, including signing in to your organization's applications |
| Password and second factor | «Use password», then «Approve with ProofFlow Presence (Mobile)» or «Use a passkey on this device» | The same as a passkey |
| Phone only | «Sign in with ProofFlow Presence (Mobile)» (only when your organization allows it) | The same as a phone approval |
| Password and one-time code | «Use password», then the «One-time code» step | Only managing your own account in the «Protect» area |
| Recovery code | «Use recovery» | Only creating a replacement passkey |
| Email link | «I forgot my access details» | Setting a new password or creating a replacement passkey |
Which one should I use?
- A passkey whenever you can. It is the only phishing-resistant method: it works only at the service's real address, and your biometrics or PIN never leave your device.
- Phone approval when your passkey is not on that computer. It is multi-factor, but not phishing-resistant.
- One-time codes only for compatibility with an authenticator app.
How long does a session last?
A passkey or phone-approval session lasts up to eight hours. A recovery session lasts 15 minutes. When the session ends, the console shows «The session expired. Sign in again.»
Language
Choose the language in the selector at the top of the sign-in page or the console. The choice is kept only in that browser.
