Organization email: sender and email recovery
Under «Manage» › «Email» you set the sender of the service's emails and who may recover access by email. The pane appears only when the service has email sending configured.
Sender
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| «Sender (optional)» | The sending address. «The sender must belong to a domain authorized by the operator.» |
| «Sender name (optional)» | Up to 64 characters, no special characters |
Left empty, the service's own are used.
Access recovery by email
| Option | Who can recover access by email |
|---|---|
| «Members without delegated permissions (recommended)» (default) | Members with no IAM role and no SCIM control |
| «Members and administrators» | Everyone, administrators included |
| «Disabled» | Nobody |
Whoever controls a person's mailbox can recover that person's access. That is why the default leaves administrators out: they recover with recovery codes or with another administrator's help.
How do I save?
- Choose «Confirm with passkey to view and change».
- Change the fields and choose «Save». The change is audited.
Which emails does the service send?
Address confirmation, access recovery links, security notices (phone linked, access recovered, authenticator reset) and, for new organizations, the activation link. They are sent in European Portuguese.
Errors
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| «The sender must belong to a domain authorized by the operator.» | Ask your provider to authorize the domain |
| «Someone else changed these settings. Refresh and try again.» | Another administrator saved first |
| «Use a passkey or Presence to fetch the email settings.» | Confirm with your passkey |
Branded sender (distributors)
The «Sender (optional)» on this page wins over the branding's sender address. See Per-brand email sender.
