Licence pools and seats

Tutorial 09Distributor licences2:14 · Narrated in Portuguese, with English captions.Transcript and details

Every licence comes from the platform. The platform issues the distributor a pool (seats and validity) and the distributor allocates seats from it to its organizations. Each organization holds one licence.

What is a seat?

A seat is an active user. Disabling or suspending a person frees the seat. Applications, API clients and phones do not count.

Where do I see the pools?

«Distributor» › «Licences». The console explains it lists the pools the platform issued to you and what you allocated from them to your organizations.

  • Your pools: each pool with its balance, for example «12 in use, 40 allocated, 48 of 100 free», its validity and signature state.
  • «Allocations to your organizations»: each customer's licence, with holder, seats, validity and state.

With no pool yet, the console says the platform has not issued you a pool yet.

Pool rules

  • A distributor holds one active pool. More seats or a later end date is an amendment of the pool, made by the platform.
  • An allocation never exceeds the pool's free seats or validity.
  • To renew customers beyond your pool's end date, first ask the platform to renew your pool.

Signature

Each licence is a signed document (ML-DSA-65 and Ed25519), verifiable up to the platform. The state shows «Signature pending» right after a change and «Signed» minutes later. The licence is usable at once. «Signature failed: the platform signs it again» resolves itself; if it persists, contact the platform.

Prices

Seat prices and volume discounts are commercial terms of your distributor agreement, not console settings. Billing questions go to the sales team.
